Hierarchical Approach for Design of Multi-vehicle Multi-modal Embedded Software

چکیده
Embedded systems composed of hardware and software components are designed to interact with a physical environment in real-time in order to fulfill control objectives and system specifications. In this paper, we address the complex design challenges in embedded software by focusing on predictive and systematic hierarchical design methodologies which promote system verification and validation. First, we advocate a mix of top-down, hierarchical design and bottom-up, component-based design for complex control systems. Second, it is our point of view that at the level closest to the environment under control, the embedded software needs to be time-triggered for guaranteed safety; at the higher levels, we advocate an asynchronous hybrid controller design. We briefly illustrate our approach through an embedded software design for the control of a group of autonomous vehicles.

Platform-Based Embedded Software Design for Multi-vehicle Multi-modal Systems
In this paper, we present a methodology for the design of embedded controllers for multi-vehicle multi-modal systems. Our methodology is predicated upon the principles of platform-based design, which uses layers of abstraction to isolate applications from low-level system details and yet provides enough information about the important parameters of the lower layers of abstraction, to modularize...
متن کاملAutonomous Underwater Vehicle Hull Geometry Optimization Using a Multi-objective Algorithm Approach
Abstarct In this paper, a new approach to optimize an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) hull geometry is presented. Using this methode, the nose and tail of an underwater vehicle are designed, such that their length constraints due to the arrangement of different components in the AUV body are properly addressed. In the current study, an optimal design for the body profile of a torpedo-shaped...

Robust control design of vehicles addresses the effect of uncertainties on the vehicle’s performance. In present study, the robust optimal multi-objective controller design on a non-linear full vehicle dynamic model with 8-degrees of freedom having parameter with probabilistic uncertainty considering two simultaneous conflicting objective functions has been made to prevent the rollover. The obj...
